Background: The Swedenborg Foundation is an organization in the Greater Philadelphia area dedicated to making more widely known the theological work of scientist, theologian, and author Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772). The Foundation has an archive with material dating back to the institution’s founding in 1849. The archive consists of roughly 120 linear feet of records pertaining to the historic operations and publications of the Foundation, and additional boxes of multimedia.
