Mississippi State University Libraries seeks a Records Manager to maintain records retention schedules for departmental units. Reporting to the University archivist and working in collaboration with the University Records and Retention committee, the Records Manager serves as the main point of contact for University personnel, providing guidance on records retention, assisting departments with maintenance, storage, and disposition of their physical and digital records as well as planning and implementing a records management training and outreach program on campus.

Primary Responsibilities:
Plan, manage, and administer the university records management program in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, and faculty regarding state retention and disposition schedules.
In conjunction with the University Records and Retention Committee and Digital Archivist, lead development of university records-specific policies and procedures for the collection and preservation of materials in electronic formats.
Conduct outreach: meet proactively with staff, administrators, and faculty and create and maintain records management training materials.
Collaborate with University Archivist as necessary to make decisions about access to records and surveying records held by university units.
In conjunction with the University Records and Retention Committee, develop and implement procedures for transferring campus records to offsite storage or consulting with units about storage options; working with units to coordinate destruction of records.
Work with University Archivists to coordinate the transfer of permanent institutional records to the
archives.
Other Responsibilities:
Provide statistics regarding trainings, outreach efforts, and consultations to the University Archivist or Associate Dean of Special Collections.
Assist in recruiting, training, and overseeing the work of student workers.
Serve on one or more library committees to serve the needs of the library and its constituencies.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Master’s degree in library/information science, history, or relevant fields from an accredited program. One year of related experience of the duties and responsibilities above.
Experience working in an active university records program. Experience working with electronic records.
Experience with ArchivesSpace, Archivists’ Toolkit, or other archival management systems.
Certified Records Manager (CRM) certification
