								<description>Fairbanks, Alaska,  The Alaska Native Language Archive (ANLA) is looking for an Archive Manager.&#xa0; ANLA is a small archive whose mission is to collect, preserve, and make accessible all materials in or on Alaska Native Languages.&#xa0; ANLA works closely with Alaska Native communities, language researchers, and University faculty.&#xa0; ANLA is partnering with the Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) to prioritize the collection development digitization and cataloging of ten of the Alaska Native languages. 
 The ANLA Collections Manager will have working supervision under the Archive Director and will be expected to do most activities associated with a small Archive, including accessioning, processing, and cataloging collections; undertaking maintenance and clean-up of the current catalog and website, assisting Archive users and donors; and participating in staff meetings.&#xa0; In addition, the ANLA Collections Manager will be expected to hold educational workshops or presentations on the use of the Archive, organization of the collections; to be organized in collaboration with TCC.&#xa0; 
 The qualified candidate will have an MLIS degree or relevant experience; an understanding of standards and best practices for both physical and digital records; and experience working with digital preservation strategies and technologies and with online databases and web-based resources.&#xa0; In addition, candidates should have excellent project management skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently. Candidates with experience working with either Indigenous communities or with endangered languages are highly encouraged to apply.&#xa0; 
 This is a full-time,  Grade 78 , Starting Pay is $23.84/hr DOE, a 12-month position complete with a salary, and competitive  &#xa0;UA employee benefits package. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 
 
 Working knowledge of standards and best practices in metadata for digital collections. 
 Working knowledge of the methods of classifying, cataloging, and organizing archival materials, including the ability to use cataloging software. 
 Experience with digital preservation strategies and technologies pertaining to audio and print material. 
 Working knowledge of research methods and tools such as on-line databases, web-based resources, and other reference materials used in locating materials and compiling information. 
 
 TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 
 Minimum of one year of experience working with a variety of digital files, catalogs, software systems Preferred: Some experience with language documentation and revitalization Experience in grant writing. Experience with Dublin Core metadata. Project management skills.  Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.  Ability to lead.
