								<description>Carmel, Indiana,  The Great American Songbook Foundation in Carmel, Indiana invites applications for the position of Director of Library and Archives. GASF consists of a small museum, archives, and music library that reaches both local and national audiences through its multi-disciplinary programming including access to its extensive collections, creating public exhibitions, and offering music-based programs for various audiences. 
 Headquartered at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana, the Songbook Foundation advances the rich musical legacy of the American Songbook by curating and&#xa0;preserving   a vast archives of items representing the creators, performers, and publishers of this musical genre and making it discoverable; operating a multimedia exhibit gallery; overseeing the Songbook Hall of Fame; offering programs for the public and research opportunities for scholars and artists; and providing educational opportunities for student musicians, including the annual Songbook Academy &#xae;  summer intensive.  The purpose of this position is coordinate all functions of the Great American Songbook Foundation Library and Archives. &#xa0;

 Develops and implements Library and Archives policies. 
 Represents the Library and Archives in discussions with the Board of Directors. 
 Oversees acquisition, care, and management of the collection. 
 Processes archival collections according to professional archival standards to facilitate discovery by researchers. 
 Catalogs published materials for addition to the library collection. 
 Supervises departmental interns, volunteers, and staff. 
 Prioritizes and oversees the digitization program of the library and archives. 
 Participates in grant writing and fundraising activities. 
 Responds to reference requests. 
 Assists on-site researchers. 
 Manages daily operations of the building. 
 Selects and communicates with vendors regarding functions within Library and Archives. 
 Leads library and archives outreach to visiting groups. 
 Promotes the Library and Archives through social media and written publications. 
 Seeks collaborative opportunities with other institutions on programs such as digitization. 
 Participates in professional and community organizations to promote the Great American Songbook Foundation. 
 Tracks research requests, researcher visits, and other collections management data. 
 Analyzes and coordinates the departmental budget and controls expenditures to administer the approved budget.

								<description>Madison, New Jersey,  Drew University seeks a dynamic and talented professional to join the University Library as Special Collections Reference Librarian and Curator of the Methodist Collection. Under the general direction of the University Librarian, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing reference and research services, formal and informal instruction, public services, and collection development. In addition to curation of the Methodist Collection, one of Drew&#8217;s most significant Special Collections, the candidate will participate in general library programs of collection development, instruction, research consultation, and digital projects, and will serve as liaison with the co-located General Commission on Archives and History of The United Methodist Church (GCAH) in shared library and archival services. Key Responsibilities &#xa0; 
 
 Oversees Methodist Collection and related rare books, archives, and other special collections. 
 Manages collection development for Methodist materials and oversees the cataloging of these materials. 
 Provides reference and research services for users of Drew Methodist Collections and GCAH Library collections 
 Serves as liaison for undergraduate and graduate-level subject fields in areas of relevant expertise, and contributes to general research and reference service within the Research &#38; Reference department as assigned.&#xa0; 
 Provides classroom and reading room instruction in primary source scholarship, rare books and manuscripts, and archival theory and practice related to the Methodist Collection. Contributes to the library&#8217;s general instruction program to advance student information literacy and technological competencies. 
 Supervises a small number of student workers 
 Maintains an active program of professional development, scholarship, and service in areas of relevant expertise 
 Candidates with relevant credentials and expertise may have opportunities to teach credit-bearing courses in the graduate and/or undergraduate programs, typically with a separate teaching contract with the relevant school or college .

 Required Qualifications : 
 ?&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0; An MLIS or equivalent from an ALA accredited institution, or an advanced degree in a relevant field with 3-5 years of library or archive experience 
 ?&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0; Demonstrable familiarity with the history of the Methodist tradition in its multiple and varied forms or clear commitment to gain such familiarity 
 ?&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0; Proven ability to work effectively with faculty, students and library colleagues 
 ?&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0; Excellent communication (oral and written) skills

 Preferred Qualifications

								<description>Virginia Beach, Virginia,  The Head of Special Collections, Archives and Digital Initiatives position is a 12-month, full-time, professional librarian position with faculty rank that provides leadership and vision for the Special Collections and Archives Department, including planning and implementing digital initiatives. This position participates with other librarians in providing reference, instruction, and collection development, and acts as a liaison to assigned departments. The position involves possible evening and occasional weekend hours and reports to the Library Dean.&#xa0; Essential functions of the position include: 
 
 Direct all activities related to collecting, organizing, preserving, and providing access to Regent University documents and special collections. 
 Oversee the development of CONTENTDm. 
 Establish goals and objectives, policies and procedures for special collections and archives in alignment with the Library mission and strategic plan. 
 Evaluate and acquire new collections important to the Regent mission. 
 Provide guidance in the development, implementation, and assessment of digital scholarship services that help curate scholarship throughout its entire lifecycle from point of creation to preservation.&#xa0; 
 Work creatively with stakeholders within and outside the University, including acquiring key collections, collaborating with faculty and students on instruction and research projects, and developing partnerships for collaborative digital projects. 
 Identify grant opportunities to support departmental goals. 
 Develop marketing, website content, and statistical reports.&#xa0; 
 Lead a campus-wide committee on Records Management. 
 Actively participate in library and university committees and local, regional, and national professional library organizations, and represent the Regent Library at local, regional and national library conferences.&#xa0; 
 Actively contribute to the academic library profession through various local, regional, and national presentations and publications. 
 Assist Public Services with research and reference duties. 
 Qualifications: 
 
 ALA-accredited master&#8217;s degree in Library and/or Information Science is required 
 Archival Training/Certification is highly desired 
 Second master&#8217;s degree in relevant area is preferred 
 3-5 years of experience in special collections and archives&#xa0; 
 Knowledge and experience with archival practices, preservation principles, metadata standards, copyright issues, digital rights management, and/or digital initiatives in a higher education library setting 
 Knowledge and experience with emerging library technologies and relevant software and open source products for archives and special collections, such as EAD and Archivist&#8217;s Toolkit 
 Knowledge and experience with planning and implementing an institutional repository (CONTENTDm) 
 Experience with grant writing

 Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a collegial, team-based environment
