SALARY: $3,933.00 monthly minimum
STATUS & HOURS: Full-time, regular (approximately 2,088 annual hours) position.

DESCRIPTION: This position supervises digitization activities associated with MNHS collections (excluding newspapers and serials) for public online access, preservation, and patron/service order fulfillment, and participates in related programmatic planning and evaluation.
SUMMARY OF WORK: 1) Supervise activities related to the digitization of collections, including fulfillment of patron/service orders; 2) Carry out evaluation of collections for digitization and online access; 3) Carry out digitization and related access and delivery tasks for collections, including fulfillment of patron/service orders; 4) Collaborate on processes and issues relating to digitization and access of collections; and 5) Contribute to digitization program planning and evaluation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Bachelor's degree plus three years experience working with archival collections in a professional setting OR masters degree in library/information science or archival studies plus two years professional experience with archival collections in an archival setting or equivalent.
* Formal supervisory experience, including providing performance-based feedback.
* Experience with prioritizing, assigning, scheduling, and directing work projects of others.
* Experience with archival appraisal and processing practices, including media and digital records.
* Hands-on experience with digitization of archival and bound materials, including understanding formats and other technical considerations.
* Experience with calibration of scanning equipment to ensure capture of best images, including willingness to troubleshoot as necessary.
* Experience in developing and delivering guidelines and training.
* Experience with digitization equipment and software, troubleshooting, and vendors.
* Experience tracking, compiling, and reporting on productivity metrics.
* Ability to manage several projects at once, including strong time management skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond productively to unanticipated changes and assignments.
* Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including experience in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
* Ability to work in an environment where the air quality may contain dust, mold or other airborne particles.

* Advanced library/information science or archival studies degree.
* Experience with a variety of digitization equipment such as flat-bed, sheet-feed, large-format, overhead, and microfilm scanners.
* Experience with cataloging and inventory processes.
* Knowledge of copyright law as related to archives and libraries.
