About Atlanta History Center
Atlanta History Center’s mission is to preserve and interpret historical subjects pertaining to Atlanta and its environs, and present subjects of interest to Atlanta’s diverse audiences through its collections, facilities, programs, exhibitions, and publications. Our vision is to connect people, history, and culture. This study of history illuminates different perspectives, broadening individual perspective to better understand others and be inspired to engage in local community and create a better Atlanta. AHC also owns and operates the Margaret Mitchell House in midtown Atlanta. Atlanta History Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with 58 full-time employees, and a volunteer Board of Trustees that has governance oversight for all organizational policy, planning, fundraising, and public relations, as delineated in AHC's charter and by-laws.
