The Project Archivist is a full time temporary position (1 year) at the Texas Collection of Baylor Libraries. The Project Archivist is expected to process the Ruth Shick Montgomery papers to archival standards, assist in providing public assistance, and other duties as needed. This is a one-year full-time position.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Process and preserve Ruth Shick Montgomery papers
Create finding aid(s) using DACS
Provide outstanding reference service to users
Assist with monitoring the reading room
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Job Qualifications:
Master’s degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited institution with a concentration in archives
Demonstrated knowledge of archival theory, trends, standards, and practices and a basic knowledge of preservation techniques
2-3 years of experience working in a special collection with an emphasis on processing collections and reference services
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to complete projects within an established time frame
Excellent oral and written skills
Desired Job Qualifications:
Experience with Archive Management software: CuadraSTAR, Archive-It, etc.
