Posted Job Title Curator, Civic Engagement Job Profile Title Librarian C Job Description Summary The Curator, Civic Engagement will lead Penn Libraries' initiative to help preserve and provide access to the diverse social and cultural record of contemporary Philadelphia, with particular focus on material that is hidden and/or at risk of permanent loss. Job Description The incumbent will help to sustain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, such as members of Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries (PACSCL), while identifying and developing new strategic partnerships that advance the position's goals. The Curator will be a campus ambassador for these initiatives and serve as a fellow of Civic House, Penn's hub for civic engagement, centering community organizations and social justice education, promoting mutually beneficial collaborations between Penn and Philadelphia community nonprofit organizations. In doing so, he or she will help to re-define special collections at Penn Libraries while serving as a bulwark to and world leader in the rapidly developing post-custodial (where Penn is not the owner) collection building movement.
