Determine, utilize and maintain professional archival and records management standards, to the application of providing enterprise-wide archives and records management services throughout the Diocese. Experience using metadata standards such as RDF, Dublin Core, EAD, METS, MODS, PREMIS, or DACS. This includes developing analog to digital conversion strategies, born digital capture and EDRMS (Electronic Document Records Management System) digital repository planning.
Identify and manage all diocesan and parochial administrative records regardless of format:
Establish retention schedules
Determine active and inactive life cycles of records
Oversee ultimate disposition of records, and appropriate preservation strategies
Collect, protect and preserve records of enduring value:
Develop, arrange and describe archival collections in accordance with accepted standards and practices
Determine access guidelines to the records of the Diocese.
Serve on Diocesan Boards and Committees as directed by the Chancellor and the Bishop.
Responsibly manage the resources allocated to the Archives and Records function of the Diocese.
Provide leadership and direction to the Archives and Records Center staff/volunteers.
Coordinate programs and prioritize the services of the Archives and Records Program with the goals and mission of the Diocese of Salt Lake City.
Work with experienced Diocesan Archives Consultant to develop and implement an integrated Diocesan Archives and Records Management Program.
Requirements & Preferences
Education Required: Graduate degree in Archival Administration or Master of Library Science with a concentration in Archival Administration
Experience required: 5 years in a professionally managed Archives and Records Management environment
Experience Preferred: 2 years of supervisory experience
Certification Preferred: Certified Archivist (ACA), Certified Records Manager (CRM)
Skills required: Knowledge of database and spread-sheet constructs, technology system design concepts, and archival conservation techniques. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro PDF tools. Working knowledge of analog to digital conversion strategies.
Skills Preferred: Knowledge of Latin &/or other Romance languages.
Other Required: Ability to lift 40-pound boxes. Ability to drive panel van.
