Description: The Digital Archivist/Registrar will oversee and contribute to the organization and preservation of the company’s archival records of collections, exhibitions, activities and company history contained in paper and digital records, photographs, audio-visual materials, videos, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Development of archival policies and procedures.
Familiarity with copyright, trademark, and similar standards.
Implementing national best practices for data entry, cataloging, and digitization standards, and collections with diverse formats.
Planning, managing, and evaluating archival digitization projects.
Managing storage of archival collections and recommending future space needs.
Researching and editing video files.
ALA-accredited MLS masters degree with archival concentration or equivalent with background in anthropology, history or archaeology preferred. Degree must be received by Dec. 31, 2018.
Demonstrated knowledge of metadata and best practices in archival standards and applications.
3-5 years of experience in digital archival management
Experience with audiovisual equipment.
Image capturing knowledge
Significant knowledge and experience with digitization, digital assets management, and archives technology; knowledge of Axiell CMS and Filemaker Pro preferred.
Assurance of the security of electronic files.
Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS programs a plus.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data
Good communication and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail
Ability to climb ladders, lift 35 pounds, and drive a car
