The Archive Intern will assist the Brand Archivist & Historian in collecting, preserving, and sharing Carhartt’s 128 year legacy, allowing both associates and customers to forge meaningful connections with the company’s history. This is a unique opportunity for those who have an interest in Carhartt’s long and colorful history, its strong connection to Michigan and the city of Detroit, and its ongoing commitment to workers everywhere. Additionally, this internship will provide distinct opportunities for students with an interest in garment and textile preservation.
This internship provides a unique opportunity to work in an up-and-coming corporate archive that has rapidly become the comprehensive source for reliable information on the history of the company and its products. The work of interns has been integral in growing the archive’s digital collections and establishing foundational processes and procedures for the archive moving forward.
