Western Washington University Libraries, Division of Heritage Resources seeks a collaborative and innovative individual to serve as Special Collections Librarian. Reporting to the Director of Heritage Resources, the successful candidate will provide leadership and direction for the curation and promotion of Western Libraries Special Collections. This is a full time, 12- month, tenure-track faculty position – rank and salary to be determined by professional experience.
This position will oversee and develop collections; cultivate donor and vendor relationships and negotiate new funding opportunities with particular emphasis on the Rare Book Collection. The successful candidate will also oversee selection and preparation of unique content for digital asset management and discovery systems, act as a subject librarian with key campus academic departments, integrate Special Collections more fully into library-wide teaching and learning activities, and forge key alliances with faculty for the use of Special Collections materials in campus curricula.
